What Is This Automatic Nest Box?

This is a comprehensive automatic laying nest system for big commercial chicken farms. It substitutes the laborious gathering of eggs by a motorised conveying belt and integrates the laying nest, egg-collecting platform, storage box and carrying tail into one device.

The concept addresses two common problems in industrial egg production, namely damage to eggs during collecting and labour expense of manual selecting rounds. The integrated anti-broody raising mechanism and self-adjusting belt alleviate both difficulties during daily operation.

1. Low Egg Breakage Rate

The chicken nest box floor is inclined at 8 degrees and has a buffer roller to softly guide eggs onto the belt, without any sudden impact. Under normal conditions of installation and feeding the breakage rate is less than 0.3 per cent. This can assist reduce grading losses on large commercial farms.

2. Automatic Anti-Broody Lifting Mechanism

A built-in raising system may lift the nest body up at nite to stop hens from roosting in it overnight. This minimises the amount of faeces on the surface of the nest and makes it easier to gather cleaner eggs the following morning – an advantage in commercial situations where egg hygiene grading is important.

3. Self-Adjusting Conveyor Belt

The rear end of the egg belt has real time tension adjustment and automatic deviation correction. This allows the belt to run smoothly for long durations, and reduces the need for manual re-calibration during normal operation.
