This mechanical chicken nest box is developed for egg gathering without ongoing physical labour. It substitutes hand-picking with a belt system that gently takes eggs out of the nest.

The frame is made from a zinc-aluminium-magnesium plate, a corrosion-resistant material that can cope with humid barn conditions. The imported PP perforated egg belt + elastic nest mat together protect eggs during the journey.

Hens enter at an 8° nest tilt angle, allowing eggs to roll out naturally without rough handling. The angle is designed on purpose to balance the hen’s comfort with the egg’s smooth flow.

Material and Structural Design

The nest body is mounted on a zincalumag plate construction, which provides long-term resistance to rust and manure. This material option is good for a longer service life than normal coated steel.

The elastic pad within the nest decreases stress when hens are preparing to lay and the PP perforated belt directs eggs along a stable route to the collection point.

Two motors drive the belt system from the front and rear, rated at 0.4 kW and 0.75 kW, respectively. The dual motor design allows for consistent tension throughout longer rows of nest pieces.
